EUC BEACH VOLLEYBALL 2025 CLOSING CEREMONY

The Beach Volleyball competition has finally concluded on July 19, 2025, with a colourful Closing Ceremony on the sand facilities of Granada, closing the EUSA Beach Sports Championships event in the Spanish city after last Friday's ending of the Beach Handball competition.

 

The ceremony united athletes, volunteers, organisers, and fans in a joyous celebration of achievement, camaraderie, and athletic prowess.
Around 120 participants from 36 Universities from 17 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.
This diverse representation made the Championship a true display of European unity through sport, with numerous languages, cultures, and traditions converging on one very hot stage - temperature and competition-wise.

In the women’s finals, the title of champion/s went to Patrycja Jundzill and Julia Gierczynska of the University of Warsaw (POL), who won 2-1 (18-21; 21-14; 15:13) an exciting final match against the Vytautas Magnus University (LTU) duo Urte Andriukaityte and Irina Zobnina.The bronze medal went to Sarah Kastenberger and Sofija Saric from the University of Vienna (AUT).

All final matches delivered intense competition, loud crowds, and emotional moments, creating memories that will last a lifetime for players and spectators alike.

 

The Most Valuable Player Award was given to Julia Gierczynska (University of Warsaw) in the women's competition, and to Raphael Trauth (University of Vienna) in the men's competition.

 

The awarding ceremony was officiated by Mariola Rus, General Director for Sports Systems and Values of the Junta de Andalucía; Salustiano Ureña, Mayor of the city of Albolote; Jordi Mercade Torras, President of the Organising Committee; Suleyman Kocasert, EUSA Chair of Branding and Marketing Council; and Anton Fichtinger, EUSA Technical Delegate for Beach Volleyball.

 

The EUSA flag was passed to a representative of the next Organisers of the event, which will be held in Split, Croatia, in 2027.
This symbolic moment marked the official end of this year's Championship and passed on the responsibility and excitement to the next host city.

 

Throughout the Championship, the competition was marked not only by top-level performance but also by strong values of sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and mutual respect.
Tens of dedicated volunteers, local and international students, played a key role in ensuring that the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
Audiences also enjoyed cultural side events, local hospitality, and the celebratory spirit that surrounded the city during the Championship.

 

While waiting for the next edition of the Championship, all teams and fans are warmly welcomed to join the next EUSA Beach Volleyball competition taking place during next summer's European Universities Games Salerno 2026.
