Sport, Show and Great Atmosphere Mark the Start of EUC BEACH SPORTS 2025

The first session of competition at the European Universities Beach Sports Championships 2025 has concluded with a very positive assessment from the Organising Committee.
The overall impression is especially encouraging, considering that this is the first time an international event of this nature, focused on beach handball and beach volleyball, is being held across the cities of Albolote and Granada.
This event serves as a pilot test within the organisational cycle planned through to 2030. The main objectives were to evaluate the performance of the sports facilities and, at the same time, gain firsthand insights into the technical considerations required for these disciplines.
In beach handball, the men’s tournament is already showing strong contenders, with the University of Málaga emerging as a clear favourite for the title after a convincing performance on day one. Meanwhile, the women’s tournament remains wide open, promising an exciting and closely fought competition in the days ahead.
Despite the competitive nature of the games, the first day of the EUC 2025 showcased a vibrant and festive atmosphere, with excellent organisation, enthusiastic crowds, and the promise of a week full of high-level university sport.
